Kangaroo Leather is thin and strong (one of the strongest leathers)
It makes beautiful stropping leather.
Difficult leather selection
Because Kangaroo are left to roam it is difficult to find hides that have suitable stropping leather, any scars on the skin become hard lumps in the finished hide making it unsuitable for stropping. We take a long time to select the right hides, and from those hides often only one or two strops can be made (the remaining leather is used elsewhere - pouches or bags, where these are not considered blemishes)
Sam & Son use the same leather selection process for our Hedges pouches.
